Above is the The Official music video for Amethyst Caverns from the Shatter Soundtrack ! Edited, Filmed & Directed By Shatter’s lead artist Corie Geerders.
It’s a story of 3 robot’s that perhaps come from another planet or universe and land in Wellington New Zealand low on power. These little robot’s are powered by sound, So they start searching through the city trying to find the compatible sound source they detected to power them up and get them home. Once they find the sound source (which happens to me busking) they approach me at that point, I notice they are making cool music, so I do what any good busker would do… hit record and jamm out with them with my awesome big boombox ! They Power up and fly away leaving me with a recording of that jamm out session :)
Beautifully shot in full HD (select 720p on the youtube video) & dont forget to crank up those speakers :) Once again many shout outs to Mario, Jos, Ian & Corie for making this happen and all the random people staring at me in town while I wondered around with a oversize home made boom box and my electric guitar playing with toy robots :) Awesome !
This video was recorded at the Wellington town hall. The visuals and projection mapping are by a collective called The Darkroomand I did the sound design for it. It was part of Webstock 2010 for the Onya Awards. The tech is pretty impressive, It’s running off this multimedia device called a Addict server (which is like a VJ computer on steriods) http://www.thepixeladdicts.com/products
Plus couple of $20,000 dollar projectors beaming light all over the Pipe organ and back walls with a big massive sound system. Watch it in HD :) cheers ! Module.

Just finished the sound design for this rather fun game out now on the app store made by pik pok games called Bird Strike in which you launch a blue bird named Gerald into the air via a sling shot and catch a lift on rockets to see how high you can go without hitting balloons, buildings, seagulls, airplanes ! I made all the in-game sound effects not to mention the voice of Gerald the bird (staring myself) which I made using some pretty neat voice processing software ! This was a rather fun job for a really fun game !
The sound design involved recording popping balloons, recording crunchy cornflakes for pick ups, making wind noises by whistling and running it through lots of filters, banging the sides of heaters, throwing cooking pots around the studio and lots of other fun sound design tricks.
You can buy bird strike on the app store for around $2 NZD by clicking here and check out bird strike on pik pok games website right here
Oh and here is the game play trailer :) Enjoy…Yeeehaaah !

They just keep coming ! and I keep smiling ! This is awesome ! It’s like really super nice to get this response to something you have done and I am personally really stoked !
Just picked up best soundtrack via Digital download game world for the ps3 store beating Trash panic and Flower !
Also Shatter has been nominated for the ‘Excellence In Audio’ award at the 2010 Independent Games Festival which is massive ! So fingers crossed for the win !
The Shatter soundtrack picked up best OST on Gaint bomb’s game of the year post. I’d like to thank the Academy, My Parents, God… (I have always wanted to say that…) haha, no in all seriousness. Big thanks to the staff at GB for the award :). here is what they said below.
Music and video games have an odd, long-standing relationship that turned a little weird when licensed music started becoming a lot more ubiquitous. Not that there’s anything inherently wrong with licensed music when it’s used smartly, but it can rarely pack the same punch as something tailor-made. All the nominees in this category feature original music that managed to stick with us well after our time with the games themselves was over, but the propulsive, urgent electronic bangers that comprise the soundtrack to Sidhe’s Shatter was the one that we actually kept listening to. Creating music from scratch that matches the rest of your game is tough, and creating game music that’s listenable without the context is even tougher. Managing to do both, well, that deserves some kind of award.
Shatter took the prize for best PSN store game of 2009 on IGN beating Flower, Pixel junk shooter and Fat princess which is just plain huge!! I was hanging out Corie and Ants (lead artist and lead programmer) we shared a glass of wine and hi-5’s out at Peter Jackson’s Park Road Post sound building for the Sidhe Christmas party and we spoke about how over the moon we are and awesome it was to win ! ( Then we went and played it on the massive big screen in one of the cinema’s out there which was really awesome !! )
So massive thanks to IGN and all the support that we have had for both the game and the soundtrack ! along with another congrats to everyone at Sidhe involved with Shatter !
2009 was a awesome yeah ! :) Cheers !
Oh, here is the IGN video review of Shatter if you have not seen it yet ! enjoy !

Finally had some time to sort out my flickr pro account, Been making lots of sets and collections from the years of images ! you can check it all out here.
Sidhe announced that Shatter won the Best Downloadable Title Award at the Game Developers Association of Australia (GDAA) Game Developers Awards 2009, the annual awards recognizing excellence in games development by Australian and New Zealand developers. The Awards were announced during the Game Connect Asia Pacific conference and trade exhibition currently being held in Melbourne, Australia. Developed for PS3, Shatter is a retro-inspired brick-breaking game featuring 10 distinct worlds in 4xAA 60fps HD graphics, a fully scored soundtrack with more than 90 minutes of original music, as well as physics effects, power-ups, special attacks, and boss battles. Shatter will remind players of classic brick-breaking games, but with twists that make it modern and unique.
The video above is a preview of a track I am working on made completely on the iPhone for a bit of fun over summer !It’s called Midnight to Dawn I had this cool idea of making lots of ambient hip hop music, like peaceful dreamy beats and textures…”Beat -Tronica” as one of my friends suggested :)….Then I got a iPhone and realized hey, I could make a whole E.P on my iPhone ! So that’s what im doing at the moment ! The app im using is Beatmaker made by these guys http://www.intua.net/ which is serioulsy amazing and off the hook. It’s a full featured production studio. I also have a few others that I am using for synths and beats. What trips me out something cronic is that when I began making music 15 years ago now, I used 4 track recorders, old computers, synths, loads of cables and tapes, and floppy disks just to make a tune but now I can make a whole track under a tree in the park and release it worldwide. hahah !! I love the future.
NOTE: I got about 6 tracks scribbled out and I will release this E.P as a free (donation-ware) download in time for Christmas though my digital store.
UPDATE: I Might make this as a bonus disk to my new album? mabye?
Here is the game trailer for HotWheels Battle force 5 for Nintendo Wii I just finished working on with Sidhe. I done all in the in-game sound design/fx partly custom made and re-editing the TV show effects to fit into the game + 6 in-game world music tracks, over 60+ cutscenes and lots of other audio work ranging from engines, creatures, machines, UI stuff. BattleForce 5 is a 3d Show on the Cartoon Network and the game is being released by Activision. It’s a Sci-fi racing car game in which you travel via portals to lots of different worlds and Battle zones. It’s pretty cool really :) I’ll be posting some behind the scenes stuff in the following weeks. Cheers. Module

This post is for all you Audio nerds out there. If you find yourself enjoying behind the scenes stuff from DVD’s as much as I do, then this post is for you. I have noticed lots of comments and questions about certain things to do with Shatter’s Sound Effects and Music out there on the Internet so I thought I would give you some special behind the scenes posts about how I went about creating certian sounds, + some of my processes and the idea’s behind them. I myself love coming across behind the scenes things online so it’s great that I get a chance to make one myself ! NOTE: This is a bit of a long post so please make sure you click the read the rest of the entry link !
P.S There are Audio examples in this post, Make sure your speakers are turned up :) If your reading this from a RSS feed, Truck over to the blog to hear things :) Feel free to comment or ask any questions after the post! Enjoy ! Module.
A simple test triggering loops and effects in Live8.0.5 with TouchOSC for iPhone 3GS. Made using a Pure Data Patch to convert OSC messages to MIDI while outputting into LOOPBe1 internal midi software then mapped into a Live session with DB Glitch, Beat repeat mapped to the on/off switches, Auto Filter for the XY pad and some basic loops with different trigger/toggle quantize settings.
This is a experiment in After effects. Making pretty looking particles dance around with Audio. It’s made using the audio layer affecting a built in plugin called Wave world with CC ball action on top with some Glow. I found the original idea on aetuts.com and have been playing around with it a bit. I will use this in a live show or something. Still figuring out how to get the particles and waves to be a bit more responsive to the beat. At the moment it’s doing its own little wave type animation. Have a watch below in HD. Fun Stuff !
Note: For those interested, I’ll post a tutorial when I figure out a few more settings to get it doing what it should !
I made this in After Effects Just for fun :) It’s one of those little Animations you see at the start of a movie or game or whatever, Using Trapcode Form and the new Module Logo, I did some sound design elements in Ableton Live and made this exploding particle techy blue looking Animation ID :) Fun Stuff ! Watch it in HD if you can, It just looks better :)
It is a brand new studio making lots of cool things for your iPhone. Check out FAME which is the official game for the new movie based on the cult classic (Yes… That one from 1980! ) I made the in-game sound effects. Which was mostly made with wind-chimes and various wind noises, Cutting things up in Ableton Live and using Audio Ease Speakerphone which is a great virtual effect plugin (VST) that emulates various speakers like the iPhone for example, So I can hear what it sounds like before it goes into the game. Check out FAME over at the site or buy it on the iTunes App Store.
The Trailer for FAME.
